Cunningham said one of the major problems Massasoit has experienced in recent years is the ATV riders who ruin trails in the park. Cunningham said that he and others from the customs even go out to Massasoit themselves sometimes to do work to try to improve the trail weather.

"Hopefully, they'll throw out the four-wheelers," Cunningham said. "They're fierce the heck out of the trails, throwing trash around and causing noise pollution. … I'd exist glad to run across park rangers come back and exit and chase them. They tear down signs."
